I’d like to know if some people have succeeded to get Panopress to work on Android !
On Galaxy Tab 10.1 with Android 4.0.4:
in integrated browser on Android, I get the white popup that appears but nothing else happens (pano doesn’t load in popup, and little text at bottom of popup don’t appear also 🙁
with Google Chrome, play icon doesn’t appear at all on preview of pano in post so no way to load/try to load pano !!
On Galaxy Note 2 with Android Jelly Bean:
in integrated browser, popup loads (but too large for screen so you can see only half of popup) and pano loads in it but no way to interact with it, when you move finger on it, it’s the main screeen behing popup that moves…
with Google Chrome same issue as on Galaxy Tab 🙁
Thanks for suggestions or ideas

hi vincèn –
have you installed the new panopress 1.0 release ?
can you post links to the pages that are acting oddly ?
omer may have to have a look at this one, i do not have an android device myself…

ok, omer has confirmed there are some issues w some android setups
unfortunately, android is a huge can of worms at the moment, different devices, os versions, browsers, flash & html5, etc
i did some informal testing on an android device earlier this year and all seems fine, but i don’t remember exactly which device etc
so android is on our fixit list right now, stay tuned and we will try to provide more info and we DO want to support android as completely as everything else
any other reports of android success or failure are welcome here too, so other users should please add any other android reports to this topic

Hey everybody –
Just wanted to post that we are also experiencing some difficulties with Android phone device viewing our panos. Everything else is working super good – We are currently using the embed for html pages with flash+html5 fallback panoramas or other content, virtual tours etc (pano2vr, panotour pro, ptgui, flashificator, etc)
Here is a link to the page: http://archeffectdesign.com/?page_id=2442
I have included a screen shot of what we see when using Android Phone. Any help on the matter is greatly appreciated.
Much thanks for making an awesome WP-Plugin to use!

i do not have an android device myself, but i suspect this might be the android device, os, and browser version not playing properly with the panos device detection, as in older android devices use only flash and newer use only html5, so a device which cannot run flash being is served flash rather than html5 and is showing a no flash error, someone more familiar w android please correct me if i am wrong here
but this would be a problem with the html or xml of your panos, not panopress or wordpress
first thing is to determine that the pano file you are embedding works ok on android device when accessed directly outside of wordpress
seems this is the file you are embedding
what happens when you access this url directly outside of wordpress on your android device ? same error ? or does it work properly ?
if it does not work, can you try creating a panorama which does work properly on your android device when accessed via a direct url, and then embedding that in panopress and letting us know if that works ok or fails ?
